Scientist Organic - Radiochemistry

Precirix is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to extending and improving the lives of cancer patients by designing and developing novel radiopharmaceuticals, using camelid single-domain antibody fragments labeled with radioisotopes. The company’s lead product, CAM-H2, is being evaluated in a Phase I/II trial targeting metastatic HER2-positive cancer. In addition, the company has two pre-clinical programs leveraging the technology strengths.

Our Brussels-based Radiochemistry team is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Scientist Organic - Radiochemistry.

Purpose of the Position:

Undertake pioneering research initiatives to strengthen the company’s pipeline of radiopharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific activities

• Organic synthesis of precursors for radiolabeling (chelators, prosthetic groups, etc.)
• Develop new methodologies and approaches with regard to the radiolabeling of compounds
• Improve existing and develop new chromatographic methods to analyze and purify radiolabeled compounds (radio-HPLC, TLC)
• Act as a subject matter expert in the application of a particular scientific field or methodology

Project Support

• Report about data and results in the project team meetings

• Depending on the level of experience, assist in one or multiple (complex) projects

Communication

• Document, retain and summarize experimental data and results in adequate systems (e.g. electronic lab note books and databases)
• Prepare written reports as appropriate
• Report about scientific activities and laboratory support during meetings

Profile requirements

• Expected educational qualifications: PhD or Master with equivalent experience in a relevant field of medicinal chemistry - background in organic chemistry is preferred
• Experience in working with radioactivity is a bonus, as well as good knowledge of analytical systems such as HPLC
• Work independently within the scope of his/her assigned field and supports others
• Keep abreast with relevant scientific and/or technical developments by searching literature and other sources independently and by attending national/international conferences
• Experience with drafting patent applications is a plus
• Willingness to present at scientific conferences and to publish in relevant scientific journals
• Self-organized and hands-on
• Strong team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Can deal with significant responsibilities and is stress-resistant
• Show flexibility in your work
